Okay already! I guess the only way to break free of blogger's block is to just dive in. Since I'm in the process of letting the dough rise for some rosemary bread, and must tip-toe around the kitchen; writing will at least keep me relatively still. Don't want to kill the yeast. I haven't baked bread in a while, but in a round about way I have Brave Sir Robin http://sirrobinridesaway.blogspot.com/2008/03/happy-easter.html to thank for sparking my baking interest. When I saw those beautiful loaves of Oatmeal Bread representing a recipe from Homesick Texan, http://homesicktexan.blogspot.com/2008/01/oatmeal-bread-and-case-of-januaries.html I was a goner!
Hey! I've gotta go punch down the dough and separate it into loaves to start the final stage of rising. I'm so excited!
Soon the whole house will smell so lovely and homey! Mmm-mmm!

I love a hearty homemade bread. I'd rather have rolls than just ordinary homemade white loaves, but I do love a dense wheat and oat loaf. Yum!

Oh, gosh! It really turned out good. I never take all the credit for all the good on bread-making. There is a Higher Force at work where bread is concerned (for me, anyway!)
I made some lima beans and ham-bone to go with. I am so hungry!

I guess I just let myself get stuck. Silly me: it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be; right?
I started this whole thing to get more comfortable with with the computer, and to communicate with my kids in New Mexico. It's not like it's meant to read like a novel; but I always seem to worry that others will think I'm an idiot.
It's been so great to meet people I would probably never run into in my non-internet travels. I'm going to keep at it and hopefully improve along the way.
Your writing is excellent; and I always enjoy your insight and humour.

Nothing better to make the house smell good when bread is baking in the oven. I need to dig out my bread making machine. My hands are just not strong enough anymore to that kneading. The bread is good! I've made it with old fashioned (not quick) Oats, and steel cut Oats.
We liked the Old Fashioned better.
