Meatatarian

So. We are on a diet. The Low Carb Diet. I hate this one! I seriously get headaches on this diet; and I get loopy! My brain must have carbs ! This can only mean two menus. Now, don't get me wrong! I'm am a staunch carnivore. But when you get right down to it, I truly believe in a balanced diet. I also realise that we both have an affinity for breads and 'taters of any sort. Top that off with the fact that I LURV to cook, and you've got yourself a virtual recipe for disaster. I fully understand the necessity to cut corners in the culinary department, but this time; we are going our separate ways. I'll definitely do salads and chicken or fish: but I will not forgo the blessed potato on occasion, or a nice slice of home-made wheat bread...aram

(cool, huh?)

Dear Wendy,
LOL!!!
Good luck on your diet. I also am being mindful of my food. Conscience, aware eating and enjoying my food and my beverages is what I am all about. As I am doing this and listening to my body I am finding the perfect weight for me. I have learned so much about what the body needs for optimum health. So much to learn.
Hope you find a way to enjoy this adventure in eating.

Hi, Sherry! I saw this and thought that I get that ravenous(as the vicious head of lettuce) when I partake in the wrong "diet". I just thought this was a funny way to illustrate it. ;)

Don't ditch the carbs. Carbs aren't bad; you just have to use them. Look at Michael Phelps. He eats I think 13000 calories a day--whatever he wants--but since he works out so vigorously, he doesn't have anything to worry about. So eat up. And buy one of those crazy "swim" tread mills. Now those are cool.
Another reason to continue with carbs: I don't want you to get out of practice. I am expecting delicious goodness when you come to visit.

DIETS BAD!

That's a tough diet for sure. Being diabetic I have to cut way back on carbs, and like you, that is almost like torture. Sometimes I just get sick of salads.

Hope you are having a great week.

I love eating salads! I just get tired of making them. I tend to get carried away when assembling them and by the time I'm done, we have a virtual salad-bar in a bowl!
We have trouble getting really fresh veggies most months in Alaska, so I've become quite obsessed about them. I do know how hard it is to try to find variety in a diabetic diet though.
The first year after we moved here, K.'s Mom visited us for 4 months and I strived to make our meals for her interesting and not
repetitious. It was a challenge.

Oh I hate low-carb too--it works and if I use it for a week I can drop five pounds up front but it just wipes me out where I don't want to move--no energy.

What are your thoughts of the governor's sleazebag hubby being subpeoned?

Sherry,
It's quite alright that you said Wendy. I nicked this video from Youtube and it is a viral Wendy's Ad, so I can see where you got that. :) No apology needed.

Scribbit,

and I seem to gain it right bak and then some. I must feel deprived as well as tired! I love your blog. The pics from India were amazing!

Saoirsedaily2,
I think that we are only finding the tip of the iceberg with the Palins. I don't know a lot about them, but I feel that there is more that has been swept beneath the rug in recent weeks. That sort of thing can catch up on ya fast!
