Quick Weather Query

What is the proper meteorologist term for the weather anomaly of snowing and raining at the same time?

Snaining?

Rowing?

Just wondering.

Oh; I forgot to mention that I also spied a small mosquito!

AUUUGGGGHHHHH! (I HATE mosquitoes!)

Rain - No shovel required. Yeehaw.

Also: The skeeters I've seen so far are more like skycranes. They'll knock you over when they land. But it's still frosting, so the numbers are small. I'm picturing little launching pads down by the river, de-icing crews at the ready...

Bears'll be cruising through town soon. And don't forget the avalanches, earthquakes, volcanos, and winter. (just around the corner!) Ain't alaska fun?

I'd go with "snaining," as it seems to have no other meaning, and "rowing" obviously does.

What a beautiful place you live in!

I just put up a post about my Spring trip to the desert, so this is quite a pleasant leap!

I just call it yucky, LOL! It won't make a good snowfall and it just means it's a cold rain.

Skeeters will be dining on us before too long as well. I hate 'em, and the horse flies near water are a menace. Those things leave holes in you when they bite!

Happy weekend! :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Snow mixed with rain or rain mixed with snow either way it sounds cold and wet.
Only in Alaska!
Stay warm and dry!
