Destined to be Together

I've finally found Teh One! We've been searching for each other since I can remember! I've had many. They have all touched my lips as I've tried in vain to capture the joy of the perfect union.

Last night I stumbled into Un-named Pricey Department Store; desperately seeking cosmic, cosmetic nirvana. There before me was the Estee Lauder counter. Surely mi amore' could be found there. I stepped closer, breathless with anticipation; trying not to notice my sweaty palms. I had been through this countless times; tantamount to a blind date, so much at stake! Did I dare hope???!!! Suddenly a host of celestial voices sang out in divine chorus, "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Pigmentosus Procurosis! M 21 Soft Amethyst: ZOMG!11!!!! My precious!

Anyone that knows me can tell you that this a major,major feat! At any given time you could look into my purse and find AT LEAST a dozen different shades of liptint, stick, gloss, rouge; wev. A peek into my
"tackle box" will garner two or three dozen more, while the junk drawer in the vanity houses a myriad of them; all waiting for me to send them on to better homes with my daughters or friends who always look much better with them on than I ever could.

That is all forever changed now; and the best thing to come from that will be the freedom. From guilt over spending too much money on a ridiculous and frivolous obsession; I guess it's an improvement over the one I had over shoes! (OMG: Shoes!) Now I will have to find some other weirdness to dive head long into like--ramekins, salt-n-pepper sets, tea balls, herb books, Mom-Mom's house or some such!

Any suggestions?

To my First

My dear Michele;

You'll never know how much you have brought me. Little did I know that day, soooo long ago; (hee-hee) that warm little bundle of wonder and sweetness would give me some of the best moments life has to offer.

I know that this is a short message, but I'm also very aware of how precious your time is these days...Besides; I can't see the screen through my silly blubbing! lol

Thank you so much for allowing me the honor of being your Mommie.

Happy Birf-Day to Youooooooooo!

Blog Hijacked!

Just this once. Vik arrived tired but safe with family in the lower 48. It was snowing there in the desert, and has cleared nicely here... hmmm. Salt Lake City was so fond of her that they delayed her flight and kept her around an extra couple of hours. The dogsitting marathon is done, I have three weeks of clean laundry and single frozen tupperware meals laid up, and I'm putting a dent in the cookies left over from the gift packs she sent out. She asked a few days ago (sorry) if I'd put a gingerbread moose pic (special significance?)on the desktop so she could add it to the blog. As to the child with the child that's been haunting her, I finally talked to the shelter managment. After the usual runaround, I was told that they do remember the girl (not many infants) from just before Thanksgiving, that her stay was short, and they cannot share any personal information or where she might have gone. End of story, I suppose. I don't know if Vikki will blog from down south, but check back in a few weeks when she returns all tanned and refreshed from the desert. Thank you all for your concern. K

We'll see...

Today I went to the grocery store and our local Box-Mart. I was on a mission. I got a nice ham, and a young turkey, along with several single use personal items. Someone's face still haunts me. I can't really see her mother's face but I see her's clearly. I may be wrong; this face could belong to a sweet little boy, but I just had a gut feeling. I haven't thought of much else for a couple weeks; save going to visit the kids and cleaning up dog poo (but that's another post altogether!)

So tomorrow we make the drive to The Brother Francis Emergency Shelter and The Bean's Cafe located in Anchorage. I don't even know what I'll do when we get there; or if what I'm thinking will even come to fruition, but I know that I can't simply do nothing. When I go to sleep at night it's the last image in my mind's eye; and when I find my thoughts drifting during daily tasks, they turn in that direction.

So we'll see...
